Results - Week 11

Week 11 saw both East Keswick teams win in convincing fashion.

The 1st team bowled out second place rivals Leeds Police for just 190, before knocking the runs off for the loss of just four wickets. The win takes them 12 points clear of Leeds Police at the half way point in the season.

The 2nd team travelled to bottom of the table Wighill Park where they won the toss and chose to bat first. A good start by Andrew Hirst (35), Farid Hussain (30) and Imran Hussain (45) took Keswick to 137-3, but the loss of four quick wickets put some pressure on the middle and lower order. However Steven Marsh (25), Steve Skerrett (9) and Tony Goodwin (8) put on some vital runs to set an under par but defendable total of 196.

Keswick got off to a great start when Mohammed Ashfaq claimed the first victim in the last ball of his first over with the score on just two runs. From there on Keswick were always on top thanks to some excellent bowling by all the bowlers, especially Farid Hussain who consistently beat the bat with little luck.

When the last wicket fell Wighill were all out for 101 runs leaving Keswick fourth in the table, just 5 points behind third place, and 7 points behind second. The 2nd team have now won six out of their last seven games.
