The first week of the season saw both East Keswick teams take points from their opening games.
The 1st XI fought hard for a point after conceding a massive 276-2 runs on a good batting wicket at Whixley. Guru and Rahul held the Keswick innings together on their way to 71 and 60 runs respectively as the team clocked up a respectable 224-8 in reply. Guru's patient knock was in contrast to Rahul who displayed some exceptional hitting as he blasted five sixes and four fours in this 38 ball knock.
The 2nd team made 170 all out thanks to a cavalier top score of 39 from Chris Allen and a boundary strewn effort from debutant Shekar Bellum. In reply some good Keswick bowling reduced Whixley 2nd XI to 126 all out with John 'One Armed Bandit' Barber taking four wickets and Chris Allen chipping in withthree four more of his own.
