East Keswick 1st team travelled to Saxton and sent them crashing to a heavy defeat in wet conditions. Batting first Saxton made just 71 runs, with the first team knocking them off for the loss of just two wickets. This victory sends the team to the top of division 2.
The 2nd team hosted Saxton A, and some sterling work by Yogi, Harry and Gareth meant the ground was fit for play, albeit with the overs reduced to 40 overs. Winning the toss, and choosing to bowl first Saxton A restricted East Keswick to 133 all out on a tricky batting surface. Ashley Richardson scored 47 and down the order Gareth Meredith scored an important 18 not out.
Batting second Saxton A lost a couple of early wickets thanks to a run out and early wicket by Mohammed Ashfaq. Saxton then responded taking them within only two dozen runs to win with half a dozen wickets in hand. However some excellent bowling by Ashley Richardson (3-26) and Mohammed Ashfaq (5-38) took East Keswick to an excellent 2 run victory and keeps them in touch with the leading teams.
