East Keswick 2nd XI vs Green Hammerton 2nd XI rained off

Sorry folks, East Keswick's home game vs Green Hammerton has been called off due to a water logged pitch and endless rain forcast for tomorrow. One can only hope the gods give us a smashing July and August to make up for it.

Week 8 - Weather Update #2

After a conversation with the groundsman the bad news is that the wicket and outfield are once again badly saturated. Even with no rain it is doubtful we can play tomorrow, but no decision will be made until 10am Saturday morning.

Week 8 - Weather Update

As you might have noticed there's been a good deal of rain today. The forecast for Friday was due to be better with some light rain during the day, but in typical fashion this has changed to heavy rain for much of the day. The covers have been on the wicket all day and will also remain on tomorrow, but there will have to be an inspection Friday evening, or more likely Saturday morning.

Week 7 - Match Previews

The 1st XI look to get back to winning ways against a Kirk Deighton team that sits in second place in Division 3. With some poor team batting performances so far this season some smarter shot selection will be required, especially from the Keswick top order.

The 2nd XI face the mighty challenge of a home match against a Headingley A side that amassed a giant 308-2 against Green Hammerton last week. 85 runs alone came in the last 5 overs as Chris Page smashed 119* from just 58 balls. Traditionally Keswick have always given a much stronger Headingley outfit a good game, so let's hope this is the case on Saturday.

Best of luck to everyone, and let's hope for some improved performances all round.
