Meeting - Details
A few details from the Meeting held last night. Aside from re-confirming that we will have two teams for the forthcoming season, the other news was as follows:
The club is looking into having a wind turbine erected at the bottom end of the ground. Standing around 30ft high this would generate electricity which would be put back into the national grid. The Sports Association would have to pay out around £1,100 for initial fees, but the rest of the funding comes externally. There would be a £250 servicing cost per year also.
It would then be hoped that the club would make money from the electricity that is put back into the national grid (figures of up to £5k a year have been mentioned). It was decided that pending a Sports Association meeting that it would be worthwhile pursuing the idea further.
All to be discussed at the next meeting which will be in a couple of weeks time.

- Site screens to be erected for new season
- Work to be done on the clubhouse
- Ground is in good condition, some re-seeding needs to be done to cover football field lines
- Sponsorship ideas for the club, including payment for cricket balls
All to be discussed at the next meeting which will be in a couple of weeks time.

Nets Update
From this Sunday onwards there will be an additional net available at the practice. This reflects the fact that Khalid has been busy pulling together players for the 1st team and also that we have a couple of people coming to try out with a view to playing this season.

New Players
This season we're lookin for new players at the club. If you know anyone who would like to play ask them to email the club at : eastkeswickcc@googlemail.com
And advert has been placed on the Leeds Gumtree website and can be seen here.
Whilst trying to find the post code of the ground I noticed Google Maps had updated their satellite image of the ground. There is a prize of a pint of beer for the first person to tell me which game was being played when it was taken!

Season Fixtures - 2010
The 2010 season fixtures are now on the Wetherby League website.
The 1st team's opening game is at home to Shadwell, whilst the 2nd team are away to Hillam & Monk Fryston. The 2nd team will play only 20 games this season as opposed to the 22 last season. This is think is due to Little Ribston leaving the league, although a Yorkshire Post team are new to the league. The season starts on the 17th April.
1st XI Fixtures
2nd XI Fixtures
edit : Little Ribston are in the 6th Division this season as they have to give a seasons notice before leaving. We also have a week on the 19th June where we have no game.
